Look who's back🎉While I was away from my social media I had received so many amazing DM’s, Snapchats and emails, which makes me incredibly happy❤️ And no i did not die, I did not get eaten by bears nor did I quit fitness. What happened is that I took some time off my social media to really enjoy the summer and focus on other goals of mine. Goals that make me incredibly happy, but now to the good stuff! While talking time off I spent a good chunk of time working on this exciting project with some pretty amazing and professional people! I'll talk more about in my next post! Stay tuned! #staywoke

My calves are finally making a comeback 🐮
Some tips that I have found helpful while growing my calves is to add more volume/hypertrophy training (4-6 sets) but with lighter weight (115lbs). Don't count the reps, push to the failure. Move your feet in different positions which allows you target all the possible angles of that muscle. And also stretching IN BETWEEN sets. . Happy almost Friday 🎉🐮

Long story short, had one of the most unproductive weekends in a long time😫 but hey, it's Monday 👐🏻 so gonna get this one right. One of the main goals for the week is to drink more water and focus more on training my back&shoulders this week. Happy Mondaayy😊💪🏼

Motivation Monday? Why??
The only motivation that will get you thought your journey is consistency. The thing that no one tells you is that you don't need to be motivated to get shit done. No one is motivated 24/7 all year round, it takes self discipline. Getting shit done this week💪🏼

🙌🏼 I feel like my cut is slowly turning into a bulk😂as my fat isn't going anywhere but at least my muscles are growing! So that's why I dedicated all of my Tuesdays afternoon to meal prepping! 🙃

Have you ever heard the saying "too much of a good thing?" 🍎🍊🥝🍓🍇🍉🍌🍒🍑Fruits are great for us because they are loaded with nutrients but too much could lead the weight gain. Most fruits are really high in sugar and sugars are what cause us to gain weight. Keep your fruit servings to a couple a day, one being right after a workout where it's 100% necessary to have carbs and sugars in order to replace our muscles glycogen stores.

StreSS
There's a hormone called Cortisol, which is increases every time you're experiencing stress/depression/ anxiety. Some of the most common effects of increased cortisol are its interference with learning/memory, lower immune system and WEIGHT GAIN. It also helps control blood sugar and regulate metabolism. High cortisol is also linked to late or painful menstrual cycles.
It is released  by the adrenal glands when a person becomes stressed. Although we cannot stop cortisol from releasing, we can control it.  Working out, right nutrition and some stress management is the key to cortisol reduction. So from now on every time you’re facing a stressful situation, try not to overreact or let it get close to you. As it doesn’t only mess with your mind at that moment, it might also have a long lasting effect on your mental and physical health later on.

I know I've talked about protein before but in regards to "cutting or bulking" and even scared some girls away, who are afraid of being "muscular"🙃(which is a complete different story). When you think about protein what do you think about? Muscles, lifting, meal prep etc. But there's much more to it than just that, our bodies NEED protein in order to grow. Not only the muscle tissue growth but the growth and formation of our organs, tendons, bones, skin and even hair. Make sure you're getting enough protein daily! So don't be afraid of protein, as it's not something that will make you look "muscular" it is something that your body NEEDS in order to live

You can lose weight and still gain muscle; just like, you can gain weight while still losing fat. Or you can just gain weight and maintain muscle mass, which is a short definition of me over this Easter holidays.🐣
