Hips lifting off the bench problem solved, less joint stress, more muscle stress; whilst pausing the bar on your chest and babe on your hips, you are forced to engage your pectoral muscles more.

I like to do 3 sets with 8 reps, two to three times a week, with 75%-85% of my 1 M.R load; coupled with rest-pause presses.

I like conservative moderate distance running on a fasted state on recovery weeks (de-load)

I've taken three days off, and steady-state cardio (particularly fasted) reminds me of how quickly your fitness levels can drop if not taken into practice.

Everything in moderation: mindful training, thoughtful nutrition, and restful sleep; it's a no brainer, but it all comes down to programming.

If your program requires you to sleep 8 hours and train 6 hours, eat for 4 hours, and foam roll for an hour; you are wasting your fucking time.

Moderate programs do work, but it takes time - what matters most is that YOU own it.

In the mean time, here are some benefits of moderate to slow running:

Strengthens muscles in legs, torso and arms.

Adapts tendons, ligaments, joints and bones to stress of running.

Promotes efficient running form.

Teaches patience, discipline and how to handle physical discomfort.

Trains the cardio, respiratory and muscular systems to work more efficiently.

Increases the quantity and size of mitochondria, improving oxygen use and glycogen stores

Besides the easy presses, I had a hard time timing my leg drive and anchoring my hips to the bench (oops..) Pre-exhausted legs from german volume training got me feeling like death, I just want to sit back and eat all the protein pancakes.

I've made changes to my nutrition, and timing is the key.

Had to wait two hours for my pre-workout meal to enter my blood stream; even walked for an hour and half.

I'm not looking to compete either; I wasn't made to be a show horse, to be honest, I'm too unstable.

What I'd I like to do is be better than the previous cycle, it really is that simple, in the end, maybe I'll enjoy it with some simple pleasures.
