“From a young age, I didn't understand why women were held to different standards than men. At birthday parties I was given barbies but later exchanged them for science kits. I traded in my ballet shoes for a bow and arrow. Uninterested in sewing, I quit the Girl Scouts and joined the Boy Scouts to scale mountains instead. I think part of me even studied Industrial Design to show that women could be just as good in a male dominated field.
Now I am not just an artist, but I run a successful small business. Although I have worked so hard to get where I am, I realize it's thanks to all the strong women who have come before me and paved the way for us to redefine what it means to be a woman in our own terms. Embrace the beauty of your femininity but don't let anything hold you back from doing what you love, whatever that may be!” - @sarahcaudleart - 7 days ago
